Description: Adults who love Jesus and truly care about teens. These adults seek to develop relationships with teens in order to let them know about Jesus Christ and His love for them! Description: A Student Servant-Leader is a qualified 11th or 12th grader who has a vibrant relationship with Christ and our Christian community. They serve at XZone on Tuesday nights by leading games, dramas and building relationships with junior highers. They may also be asked to share their testimony, assist a small group, and attend retreats. Application, interview and training meetings required. Description: A Student Servant-Leader is a qualified 7th through 12th grader who has a growing relationship with Christ and our Christian community. These students serve either on Sunday mornings by teaching or assisting in Sunday School classes, on Sunday evenings with Shipmates or Rising Tide, or Wednesday evenings teaching skills with Mission Adventure. May also be asked to help with special events including VBS and Family Festivals. Application, interview and training meetings required. Description: Help by using your gifts to provide for the Youth ministry on a consistent or occasional basis. Description: Agree to be a part of a teaching team to lead other adults in study of Scripture and/or foundational beliefs and practices of the Christian faith. Bible Study Leader: Lead ladies through a Scriptural based study, open to anyone, designed to encourage spiritual growth and application of God's Word in our lives. Training and resources provided. Consignment Sale Planning Team: Plans and executes the semi-annual Consignment Sales. Includes marketing, servant coordination, set up, charity donations, and overall management. Description: Assist in any number of Men's Ministry areas. The Planning Team is responsible for general planning, oversight and communication of all aspects of the ministry. Description: The library and bookstore seeks to serve Hillside by encouraging reading and study to further our community's walk with Christ.' Description: Team visits families after the birth or adoption of a child. Prayer Room Servant: These servants will make "appointments with God" for prayer in Hillside's Prayer Room on a specific days and times. Description: These servants assist in the weekly worship experiences by providing a warm and inviting welcome to all guests. Description: On Monday or Tuesday team members are emailed the phone numbers of the past Sunday's 1st time visitors. They then give the visitor a welcome call and answer any questions they might have about Hillside. The visitor team then reports back to the Membership Office by email about their phone conversations. Team members are usually not given more than two families to call; exceptions would be holiday services where there are many 1st time visitors. Information and training is provided. Description: Strives to make use of their artistic and creative abilities to connect people to God through the use of our senses, both during worship and outside of worship. Visual Design Team reinforces the messages and worship themes in striking ways that evoke feeling and meaning. These elements are often set up on a Friday or Saturday prior to weekend worship. This team also contributes greatly to the decoration of the church for special seasons such as Christmas (Advent) and Easter (Lent). Description: Makes use of technology to enhance our experiences in worship and beyond worship. Using audio, video, lighting, and computer equipment, these servants help us all CONNECT better to the message that is conveyed through the worship experiences. In addition to Sunday worship, this team regularly assists with special events at the church including weddings and banquets. Experience is not required to be a part of this team, just an interest in learning how technology can be applied in worship. Description: This team of actors, puppeteers and set/costume designers contributes to the worship experiences by engaging us in dramatic depictions of circumstances that help us connect to the message and meaning of worship. Periodically prepares short vignettes that are offered in worship to further illustrate the message of the day. In addition to the weekly worship experiences, this team will contribute to the Christmas Eve Family and Children's Services, which are a dramatic adaptation of the Good News of Christ's birth. These services are approximately 1 hour in length and call for all experience levels, from beginner to accomplished actor. Will also participate in other celebrations through the church year. Cherub Choir (age 3 - 4) - We move to music, play instruments, and learn the bells. We learn more about worship and singing and have limited participation in our Fall and Spring Musicals. Recommended Spiritual Gifts: Teaching, Evangelism, Leadership, Creative Communication, or Helping.
Kids Praise (Grades K thru 2nd) - We learn to sing together as an ensemble, memorize worship songs, and work with Joyful Noise to present two musicals per year. Recommended Spiritual Gifts: Teaching, Evangelism, Leadership, Creative Communication, or Helping.
Joyful Noise (Grades 3rd thru 6th) - Joyful Noise sings regularly in worship, at Christmas Eve and takes a leadership role in our Fall and Spring Musicals. Recommended Spiritual Gifts: Teaching, Evangelism, Leadership, Creative Communication, or Helping.
