Join Us For In Person Worship!

We can't wait to see you again in person! Things are a little different during this season and we are taking every precaution to provide safe and healthy environments for you and your family. Below you will find the link to register as well as instructions and important safety protocols for attending worship with us in person. We ask that you review the guidelines so you are prepared for what to expect when you arrive on campus.

PLEASE NOTE: Both the Modern and Traditional services will take place in Celebration Hall in order to maximize seating. Modern Worship will begin at 9:30 as usual but the Traditional Service will begin at 11:15 in order to allow more time for the transition between services.

Instructions & Important Safety Protocols for Attending In-Person Worship

  • For everyone’s wellbeing, please do not attend if anyone in your party is feeling ill or running a fever, regardless of the cause. Also, you may want to stay home and live stream worship if you are in the high-risk category for Covid-19 as there is no way to guarantee a virus-free environment.
  • Please bring a mask with you to wear while on Hillside’s campus. Wearing masks, covering the nose and mouth, will be required for the entire time you are on the property, including during worship. Please put your mask on before departing your vehicle and leave it in place until you return to your vehicle after the service concludes.
  • Arrive at the worship entrance at least 20 minutes before the service start time as the Ushers will seat each family unit individually to preserve social distancing.

  • Please park near Celebration Hall and enter at the Drive-Under Canopy Door closest to the Celebration Hall entrance (first floor, door #7). Both worship services at this time will take place in Celebration Hall due to distancing.
  • Near the entrance will be a check-in and sanitation table. Wait on the sidewalk marked with spaced stickers until you are able to access the table to check in. There you will be checked off the registration list by a Greeter. You will also be asked to put on your mask if you haven’t already, and your temperature will be taken with a touchless thermometer. All Guest Services Volunteers will be wearing masks and will practice frequent hand washing for your protection.
  • The Ushers will assist you in finding a seat. Family groups should remain at least six feet apart from other people/groups. There will be stickers on the floor in the lobby where you can wait until you are helped. Seating will be front to back to maintain the appropriate distance. Chair positions cannot be altered by anyone other than an Usher. In order to maintain proper distancing, Ushers must seat everyone attending worship.
  • To maintain sanitation please restrict your presence to the worship venue, the lobby, the restroom or the children’s area to drop off and pick up your children. Walking the hallways or visiting other rooms is prohibited. To prevent the spread of germs, coffee and refreshments will not be served.
  • We have all missed our church friends but please do not shake hands, hug, bump elbows, or touch anyone outside of your family while on campus. To show affection, please wave or motion a pretend hug instead :)
  • You will notice more cameras, lighting, and possibly cords on the floor for our live stream broadcasts. In such case, please walk carefully so you don’t trip.
  • Bulletins, attendance pads, hymnals and pew Bibles will not be used so that sharing germs can be avoided. You are welcome to bring your personal Bible instead.
  • Following the service, rows will be dismissed individually by the Ushers to avoid congestion in the lobby. For everyone’s wellbeing, there will not be a reception line with the Pastor at the end of the worship service and there will be no lingering in the lobby. The Ushers will direct you to the appropriate exit door as you leave the building.
  • There will be baskets for your offering at the venue doors as you enter or leave worship.

  • We will have programs for kids’ nursery through 5th Grade. All children must be preregistered in order to attend. Currently we will not have “Live” Clubhouse or the Garden, but kids will be able to watch during service and participate in small group activities.
For Children’s Drop off:
  • Everyone (kids and parents) need to sign in at the checkin desk. Masks will be required for everyone age 4 years and older while inside the building. From the check in station, parents will drop children off in their assigned classroom and proceed to Celebration Hall.
For Pick up:
  • Parents will exit Celebration Hall when directed
  •  and come down the Children’s Hall to pick up their children and then exit out the Office/Nursery Doors. Children must be picked up immediately following service.

  1. PRAY!  For those who are ill, for the families of those who have died, for medical personnel and essential workers, for the strength of the Christian church and Hillside specifically, for guidance in showing the truth of Christ in your words and actions…
  2. KEEP YOURSELF AND OTHERS WELL!  Practice social distancing, wear a mask in public, wash your hands frequently, exercise and get fresh air, check on your neighbors and the elderly, bring a meal or run errands for those who can’t do it for themselves, maintain good mental health by avoiding too much media coverage and by talking with others, count your blessings instead of your fears…
  3. KEEP THE CHURCH STRONG!  The role of the church will be more crucial than ever as a result of this pandemic and its after affects. Maintain regular worship online or in-person, read scripture, stay in touch and informed on Hillside’s website, share the peace found in Jesus with others, invite them to live stream worship, maintain financial support of Hillside UMC…

We always welcome your questions and if you have any issues completing your registration, please email us at [email protected]
